A Mixed Bag

The photography of J. Patrick Bernard, and the mixed media of Angela Marie Waalkes will be on display through December 15.

Bernard is an award-winning photographer whose work has been displayed in galleries, competitions, and online publications. www.jpatrickpictures.com/

Waalkes works with pottery, stained glass, pencil, oils, lithography, photography, and graphic design.

Visions and Dreams

Local artist Mary Mellot will display from Saturday, December 20, through Monday, January 26. http://www.stlukes.net/mellot

Dreams and visions continue to challenge my imagination to see things in a different light, a different perspective. Art making provides the vehicle to explore and participate in the creative process. Following a line and the energy it wants to express becomes my journey and adventure. Animals, plants, moons, suns and colors compete for my attention as patterns overlay with a delicate and sometimes powerful voice. The final piece of art invites one to create a story and dialog with ever flowing creative imagination of the child within all of us.

GENERAL EXHIBIT INFORMATION

Your library provides art exhibit space to promote its role as a community cultural center....a place of learning and relaxation. Our objective is to showcase local artists' expressions, hosting two juried shows a year as well as many other exhibits. Artwork selection criteria is based on the following:

• Aesthetics
• Craftsmanship
• Presentation
• Size and available display space

If interested in exhibiting at the Philip S. Miller Library, please submit:

1. Two samples of your work; digital attachments to an email is fine. Each piece should be identified with its title, medium and finished dimensions.
2. A current biography listing your present address and phone number.
